Highs near 96 and lows dropping to 67 this week. Classic Holbrook summer, hot in the afternoon and surprisingly comfortable once the sun lets up.
Storms are in the mix too, so do not let that fool you into leaving the sunscreen at home. If you are heading to the pool or catching any outdoor action, keep one eye on the sky and be ready for a quick change in plans.
Around Town This Week
Fall 2026 sign-ups for the Holbrook Youth Soccer League are currently open. Registration costs $50 and has been extended to July 26, so now is the time to get your player enrolled before that window closes. The season itself runs August 24 to November 14, with the first games kicking off on Saturday September 12. Head to the link to sign up.
An evening of crafts is waiting for you at the Holbrook Public Library. Come by, get creative, and enjoy the company. Free to attend.
Every Tuesday and Thursday this summer, free pickleball instruction and games are happening at the Holbrook High School wrestling room, open to all skill levels ages 13 and up. Beginners are welcome and lessons are available, so whether making new friends, learning a new sport, or simply getting active is what brings you out, there is a spot for you. Sessions run 6:30 to 8:30pm.
Holbrook Healthy Families Arizona is throwing a free Moana and Maui themed summer barbecue at Hunt Park. It's a fun afternoon for families with little ones, with grass skirt making, rock painting, story time, and a sing along. The food is on the house and the whole thing is free. It runs 4 to 6pm on Wednesday July 29.
The Holbrook Roadrunner Booster Club is hosting a glow in the dark golf tournament at Hidden Cove Golf Course to raise money for Grad Night 2027. Play 9 holes after dark with a glow ball tee and a glow necklace, then grab pizza, popcorn, and a goodie bag. There are prizes and a raffle, with drinks available to purchase.
Admission is old-school and straightforward: 4 dollars for adults, 3 for kids 6 to 17 and seniors, and 2 for little ones 5 and under. Open Swim runs every afternoon from 1 to 5pm, and on Monday through Wednesday evenings, Night Swim offers another chance to cool off after the daytime heat finally breaks. The Holbrook City Pool is as reliable as ever for getting through an Arizona summer.
For the Kids
The Holbrook Public Library welcomes everyone to Story Time, running Tuesdays at 10:30am and Fridays at 1:30pm through the end of the month. There is no cost, and all ages are invited to drop in. Every session includes a craft, and the bigger kids will also find a scavenger hunt waiting for them in the library.
Lego LeagueEvery Tuesday at the Holbrook Public Library, kids of all ages are welcome to come build and create at Lego League. It is completely free, so just show up and start stacking.

Talk of the Town
One of the strong storms that rolled through knocked the Jack Rabbit Trading Post's famous "Here It Is" sign down. A GoFundMe set out to raise $6,500, and the community blew right past it, topping $23,000. Neighbors even turned out in person to stand the sign back up. That is Holbrook for you.
The Hidden Hundred
Each week this month we run a Holbrook clue, a photo, a landmark, a statue, or a piece of local history, with a few letters shaded in the answer. Figure out the answer, write down the shaded letters, and keep collecting.
At the end of July we hide the bill, and your collected letters unscramble to spell exactly where it is. First to find it keeps it, and subscribers always get the clues first.
This is the fifth and final clue, so the hunt is officially on. You now have every letter from all five clues. Unscramble them and they spell exactly where the $100 bill is waiting. One thing to look for when you get there: the bill is tucked inside a little black disposable coffee cup, so keep your eyes peeled. Get out there, be the first to find it, and the hundred is yours.
