One of Holbrook's newest Route 66 landmarks and an instant favorite photo stop. This big drive-through Route 66 sign was spearheaded by local Kenny Larson and hand painted by well known Holbrook artist Richard Gorman, and it was switched on for the very first time on April 21, 2026 to help celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Route 66.
It is worth seeing twice: by day you can take in Gorman's painted panels on the sides, and after dark the neon lights up for a completely different and equally great photo. You can actually drive right through it, and many visitors leave their own personalized sticker on the inside as a little memory, so look for the layers of names and notes from travelers who came before you.
You will find it right on Hopi Drive, it is free, and it is open anytime, making it a perfect quick stop to grab a photo and mark that you made it to the Mother Road.
